FAQ

How long does it take for my brace to be fabricated?

The general time frame for a brace to be fabricated is 2 to 6 weeks. However, there are factors such as the type of insurance you have, whether or not your insurance company requires an authorization and the type of brace you require that may influence the time frame of a brace being complete.

Do I need a prescription to make an appointment? Why?

Yes. We are required by law to have a prescription written by an M.D. in your file for each service rendered at Orthotic Solutions. Our practitioners are not Doctors but Certified Orthotist’s. It is the Doctors responsibility to provide the patient with a diagnosis and to recommend a specific type of orthosis to be made and fabricated by Orthotic Solutions.

What do I need to bring to my first appointment?

Please bring the prescription, the prescribing doctor’s clinical notes from your visit with him and patient Insurance Cards. We also ask that you arrive 10 minutes early to fill out New Patient Registration forms.

As a courtesy to our patients prior to the first appointment, we will contact your insurance company and verify your Orthotic benefit. The benefits that are quoted to us by your insurance company are NOT a guarantee of payment.

We are not responsible for quoted benefits given to us by your insurance company. We suggest our patients also contact their insurance company for more information regarding their DME/Orthotic Benefits.

What is the life expectancy of the brace? How often will I need to visit Orthotic Solutions?

Timely visits with your DOCTOR are necessary. Once seen at Orthotic Solutions, your Orthotist will direct you as to how often you will want to return for Follow Up appointments. And of course, if you are having issues with the brace or experiencing any discomfort, we urge you to call immediately to make an appointment.
